Very professional service. Listened to what you wanted but able to give excellent advice. The drawings submitted were of high quality and builders were able to work from them and get the job done. Deadlines were met good value for money spent. Highly recommended.
Fergus is very creative as an architect, friendly and his prices are very competitive. My house is pretty small so if you are looking for someone to help maximise your space, Fergus is the one. He is highly professional, has good local knowledge about what is possible in my conservation area and produces excellent work. I can highly recommend him.
The job required architectural drawings of a loft conversion, for the builders to work from. Fergus Carr was approachable, friendly and very keen to get the job completed to our specifications.
We are in the process of having a loft conversion done and Fergus has been fantastic. He has listened to what we want and provided innovative and practical solutions to help us achieve this. Despite being turned down on our initial application, Fergus has managed to secure approval for a scheme that we are really happy with. He has been a pleasure to work with and we’re looking forward to seeing the project out with him.
Carr Architecture was charged with the digital reconstruction (based on early 19th-century plans and elevations) of 47 Leicester Square, London. This was for many decades the home of the founding President of the Royal Academy of Arts, Sir Joshua Reynolds. It was demolished in 1937. The reconstruction also investigated the possible siting of various rooms/galleries in the building where Reynolds carried out various functions and activities, such as his purpose-built octagonal studio. The successful outcome and visual reconstruction will be published in Susanna Avery-Quash and Kate Retford (eds), ‘The Georgian London Town House: Building, Collecting and Display’ by Bloomsbury in 2018.
Fergus was recommended to us by friends who had recently completed a beautiful renovation of their home; I loved many of the features they had included & couldn’t wait to see Fergus’s designs for our home – I wasn’t disappointed!
We set a challenging brief as we need to convert a small dark 2 bed cottage in to a light, bright, 3 bed family home. Fergus came up with a number of solutions, then worked closely with us to finalise the plans. He is always patient and very quick to understand and act upon any concerns or feedback, his advice & support has been invaluable to us and we can’t wait to see the plans come to live.
I have already and will continue to recommend Fergus to anyone looking for a great architect.
Whilst this project never left the drawing board, Fergus went far more than the extra mile to ensure that we were able to fully understand what was involved. His professionalism and attention to detail were exemplary, and went way beyond what we expected. We would heartily recommend Fergus for such a refurbishment project as ours.
Carr Architecture was recommended to us by friends. Our brief was to extend and remodel the ground floor of our very tired Victorian terraced house. As a family, we required storage and space to move around. We needed a child friendly house, a kitchen that was easy to maintain, storage, flow between rooms and the all important down stairs WC. Fergus delivered on all these points and more. As we had decided to close off the front living room, allowing for a more grownup space, we then built a snug room leading off the kitchen for the children. The snug now houses a floor storage cupboard, and the hallway wall was extended into the snug room to allow for a hallway coat cupboard. This use of space was by far the best storage we could have asked for. We are really happy with the results, and so pleased we worked with Fergus. He was friendly, professional, efficient and engaging, and we would use Carr Architecture again.
We worked with Fergus on our house renovation. It was a pretty big job with many features to consider. Fergus was fabulous to work with, he is very can do and always thinking of ways to improve ideas and spaces. He has a keen eye for detail and constantly went the extra mile whilst working with us. The design workshop was excellent and well worth it to see our project come to life. He was fantastically enthusiastic and readily got our vision. I would work with him again and hope to do so in the future.
